Medical programme
I What documents are required in the admission process?
 
1. a completed docAPPLICATION FORM38 KB

2. Upper Secondary School-Leaving Examination Certificate (so-called: "Maturity Certificate") or other document obtained abroad which:
  • is validated (legalized) or affixed with apostille,
  • gives the right to apply to all types of higher education institutions in the country in the system of which an institution issuing such certificates is located and is equal to the Polish Upper Secondary School-Leaving Examination Certificate,
  • includes grades in Biology and one out of two school subjects: Chemistry, Physics (or the above mentioned grades are included on other certificates of complementary or higher education),

3. a document with a statement confirming candidate's right to apply to higher education institutions in candidate's home country (if it is not already on candidate's diploma),
 
4. a valid docHEALTH CERTIFICATE31 KB that confirms the ability to take up studies,
 
5. vaccination records (vaccination against hepatitis type B),
 
6. a certified copy of a passport,
 
7. 4 current photos with uncovered head.
 
 
II Other requirements:
 
1. A candidate needs to speak English well enough to participate in classes conducted in English (long lasting lessons at school or completion of courses at an appropriate level).
 
* The list of documents certifying candidate's proper knowledge of English: FCE, CAE, CPE, BEC 2, BEC (3), CEIBT- certificates issued by University Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (at least "pass"); IELTS (at least 6.5 points); TOEFL 500 in tests, at least 3.5 points in writing test (TWE) and 200 points in speaking exam (TSE) issued by Education Testing Service.
 
2. A candidate submits  all required documents (see above) and information in a specified time.
 
3. A candidate attends a recruitment interview and is initially accepted by Qualification Commission. Subsequently, a candidate obtains a final decision from Rector or a person authorized by Rector concerning admission to the studies.
 
 
III What documents are required after admission?
 

If candidate's high school diploma has not been issued by any of the EU/EFTA/OECD country (Great Britain, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Spain, Netherland, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Hungary, Italy, Canada, USA, Turkey, Japan, North Korea, New Zealand, Chile, Israel) it needs to be recognized in Poland in result of an administrative recognition procedure done by province education superintendent (kurator oświaty).
The administrative procedure done by kurator oświaty is supposed to be finished before the end of 1st semester of studies.

IV HOW TO APPLY?

THE ADMISSION PROCESS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2018/2019 STARTS IN APRIL 2018.

CANDIDATES WITH POLISH CITIZENSHIP
 
The candidates who hold Polish Citizenship can be qualified on the basis of:
  • Resolution no. 107 of the Senate of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń of 31.05.2016 on conditions and procedures of recruitment for the first year of the studies in the academic year 2017/2018
 
I Preliminary requirements
For admission to the studies the following candidates may apply:
 
1. Persons holding the Upper Secondary School-Leaving Examination Certificate [so-called: "Maturity Certificate"] or equal, giving the right to apply to the studies at all types of universities according to the rules within this matter binding in the country of origin of the candidate.
 
2. Persons whose Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate contains the grades of the two subjects:
a) Biology
b) Chemistry and physics
 
 
II HOW TO APPLY?
 
1. Register in Internet registration system (IRK) and enter data necessary for the recruitment process.
 
IRK registration for the academic year 2018/2019: dates - to be announced.
 
2. Make a payment of recruitment fee to an individual bank account, generated by the IRK system, in the amount calculated by the system.
 
Attention!
Personal recruitment account in the Internet constitutes the only way of passing the information to the candidates. This means that the information placed on the personal account is considered delivered and binding.
 
 
a) written test in English*
 
b) selection interview conducted in English**
 
* The written test in English verifies the candidates' knowledge and ability to use the special terminology within of biology, chemistry and physics. The test is graded according to the scale 0-200 points.
 
**The selection interview conducted  in English assesses candidates' motivation to study medicine, their experience at work for organizations of aid, their interpersonal skills and communication skills. The selection interview is graded according to the scale 0-200 points.
 
Attention!
A candidate who holds the IB or EB diploma, on which there are specified grades of two subjects at the extended level a) biology and b) chemistry or physics, passed in English, does not take the written test
 
 
III What documents are required after admission?
 
1. application form printed from IRK system
 
2. Upper Secondary School-Leaving Examination Certificate or other document obtained abroad that:
  • gives you the right to apply to all types of higher education institutions in the country in the system of which an institution issuing such certificates is located
  • includes a grade in biology and 1 out of 2 of the following school subjects: chemistry and physics
If your Upper Secondary School-Leaving Examination Certificate was issued abroad it has to be validated (legalized) or affixed with apostille.
 
3. document with a statement confirming candidate's right to apply to higher education institutions in candidate's home country (if it is not already on candidate's diploma)
 
4. valid medical certificate that confirms ability to take up studies (which is issued by the Occupational Health Service doctor)
5. certified copy of a passport (concerning foreigners)/ identity card - dowód osobisty (concerning Polish citizens)
 
6. 2 current photos with uncovered head (one in electronic form which shall be entered into the Internet registration system (IRK) by candidate, in accordance with the standards pertaining to issuing identity cards [dowód osobisty]


 
Additional important information:
