University Hospital no. 2 to be considerably modernised

projectWe are pleased to announce that clinical teaching facilities for NCU Collegium Medicum students are going to be modernised and extended considerably. The Jan Biziel University Hospital No. 2 in Bydgoszcz has just received an official decision on substantial funding for development from the state budget, amounting to PLN 365 million.

The long-term development plan presented by hospital authorities covers two major investments. A new building is planned to be erected within the hospital’s infrastructure and is going to include several clinical departments, an operating suite, the archives, sterilisation and disinfection departments, teaching rooms for our students, and a new helipad on the roof. The second part of the development plan involves the modernisation of the existing clinical departments, treatment and diagnostic rooms, as well as technical infrastructure and the hospital kitchen.

projectThe Jan Biziel University Hospital No. 2 in Bydgoszcz is one of the largest multidisciplinary medical facilities in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. Since 2008, it has been attached to and working closely with NCU Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz. The institution is actively investing to improve the conditions for both patients receiving diagnostic and treatment services as well as students carrying out their clinical placements and practical classes at the hospital. Recently, another new project has been launched - the hospital is planning to extend and redevelop the Emergency Department, largely by the creation of modern initial intensive care stations. The nearly PLN 4.5 million project is co-financed from the EU’s European Regional Development Fund.
